This guild is a non-profit philanthropic organization whose purpose is to promote cooperation and exchange of ideas among those interested in quilting. We encourage and instruct members in methods and techniques of quilting. Our meetings are held the third Monday of each month at 6pm at Community Church by the Lake in the Mary Johnson Center, 40946 Big Bear Blvd., Big Bear Lake, Ca 92315.
Our Philanthropic donations have gone to the Doves, Mom & Dad Project, Historical Society, Discovery Center, Lutheran Services, and Big Bear Lake Community Church Pantry.

May Meeting and Workshop will be Linda and Carl Sullivan from Colourwerx. The lecture will be “Got Color”. Boost your color confidence and learn to use every color of the rainbow in your quilts. Linda and Carl will discuss the basics of color theory, demonstrate color concepts and how to create and combine dynamic color palettes, as well as share their tips and tricks on how to find color inspiration in everyday objects to inspire, infuse and ignite the color in your next quilting project. The workshop is Mod Applique. You will love how liberating and fancy free these improvs, slash ‘n sew projects are! With no exact 1/4” seams to follow, and tons of tips and tricks. You will learn the basics of fun improv/wonky piecing and never worry about being exact again! She’ll also teach the beginning basics of fusible web machine appliqué. You may choose to make either a ModDog, ModCat or ModFish! Pattern included. Samples and sign-up sheet available at this month’s meeting. Cost of workshop is $20 for members-$35 for nonmembers.

June Meeting and Workshop will be another of our local talents. Bonnie Marshall Creel. Bonnie will share her quilting journey and some of her art quilts. The workshop will be How to’s for Thread Painting. Samples, sign-up sheet for workshop and supply list will be at the meeting. There will be a kit for the workshop-cost $10 payable to Bonnie. No fee for workshop this month. July meeting, we will get Information and details for our Show in September. There will be no workshop -it our Annual Picnic time.
