Programs scheduled for 2024
As I write this, I am looking out the window at the beautiful snow with lots of sunshine. It is so pretty, but glad I am inside. Hope everyone is doing well with the storms. Here is some information about the next couple of meetings and workshops. Also, I have finally gotten commitments from everyone and think I have the years programs set, but will keep you posted to any changes.
February Program is a fun game of Strip Poker-a version of Left, Right, Center. We will use strips- 2 1/2' by WOF for the game. I will have them available for the meeting.
February Workshop will be a Strip Race. We will use the strips from the night before and I also have 5 jelly rolls that you can use once you sign up for the workshop. The race is sewing the strips together and making a quilt top(for charity) The first one to finish will, of course, win a prize. I have lots of strips but if you have some fabric you are looking to use, you will need 44 strips(2 ½ x WOF). Let me know if you have any questions about this info.
March Program will be a Quilt University. A chance to learn some new ideas.
March Workshop will be a charity workshop. We will be assisting Robin with cutting fabric, putting kits together and just getting things done for our members to make projects for our different charities.
April Meeting and Workshop will be presented By Drew from "Sew Treasured" in Temecula. I am waiting for details and hopefully will have a sample of the workshop project for our meeting.
May Program and workshop will be presented by Terry Kirk. She will share her creations and ideas. The workshop will be her version of "Cathedral Stars". There will a be second workshop in June to work on this Project. The April and May workshops are $25 for members-$35 for nonmembers. Sign-up sheets will be available starting at the February meeting. Once you pay the fee, I will get info and directions to you.
June meeting will be the start of preparation information for our Quilt show. We will also have a Silent Auction (if I can get someone to head it up) Workshop will be the second session with Terry Kirk.
July-some more quilt info and the Challenge Quilt showing and judging. No workshop-Picnic fun instead.
August Meeting will be final Prep and info for the quilt show, The workshop will be learning to make a T-shirt Quilt.
September is our Viewer's Choice awards and another fun workshop by Robin Davis."
October we're looking at Some basic quilting ideas and the workshop will be a "Picket Fence" Quilt.
November is our usual Give Away to our charities and cookie exchange. No workshop.
December-no meeting or workshop. Christmas party-December 2.
Note: Each member that attends a workshop will get a ticket that will go into the Christmas Drawing. More tickets more chances to win $100. Let me know if you have any questions. Enjoy the snow. Lorraine Taylor, Vice President & Program Chair email@example.com (562) 208-7406 for tex
